3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
An English brewery I always like to see at the LCBO. After having a few weak fruit beers from "Les Frères Houblons", I was expecting something good from this one. Pours a dark red colour with a rich red-pink creamy head that has good retention and beautiful lace. A full raspberry nose is felt, with the great fruit juice. Lightly bodied which makes this one quite refreshing. Does not seem weird (different) like most organic brews I have tastes. Some nice sweetness with the juice and a little sourness in the finish. A very well-balanced organic raspberry fruit beer.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
LCBO bottle, aka Melbourne Brothers raspberry, and certainly in their way of making beer. Sticky enough to attract flies. Reddish with pink foam. On the sweet side, medium mouthfeel. A good tartness. Very berry. Decent fruit beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle [550ml]. Pours a bubbly deep pink-amber with a large lasting fluffy pink head. Decent lacing. Nice aroma of tart raspberries, cherries too, lightly sweet and slightly earthy. Flavour of tart raspberries and some cherries backed by caramel malt and a dry, tart finish -- quite tasty. Gets a touch sweet after a while but never too much so. Carbonated just right for the style. Average bodied. Really good stuff, I need to get to the store for more pronto!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from my 3-year-old son as a present for my birthday. Don’t know where he got the fake id.
This completes my non-lambic raspberry trifecta (Alaskan, Wyders, Sam Smith) of the last 24 hours. Don’t think I’ll repeat it any time soon. Basically, raspberry juice with a bit of wheat beer character. Sweet and sticky, tasty enough but nothing like beer. Deep red pour, pink head, Intense raspberry aroma, sweet rich juice dominating the flavor. None of the dryness that the Alaskan had to offer. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is raspberry, light reddish- amber color. Light pink head. Fairly mild raspberry taste, hints of malt. Better than some fruit beer, but not my favorite style.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
1Pt. 2.7 FL OZ bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very obvious deep red colored beverage, especially noticeable in the head of the beer which is a very noticeable pink color from all the red in the beer. Smells like a fresh raspberry. Also tastes like one, somewhat unfortunately. Some other fruit beers, say ones by St-Ambroise or so on, have been pleasantly surprising when they actually have a strong, malty, or hoppy, beer taste to them. Having a great aroma of fruit but a taste of good beer is a wicked combo, but when its fruit+fruit+more fruit.. It’s too much. And I think this beer is too much.
