UPDATED: SEP 20, 2011 Bottle. The pour was a medium to dark red almost a cranberry in color with an average sized (1-2 finger) fizzy pink head that dissipated quite quickly and had fair lacing. The aroma was extremely strong with the scent of Raspberry’s and had a mild sweet yeast odor to it and not much else. It tasted moderately sweet and slightly malty with a nice dose of Raspberry from beginning to end with a hint of yeast at the finish that left the flavor lingering on the taste buds for a nice long time after the swallow. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and slightly watery in texture yet had a dry feel to it at the finish with a nice lively carbonation. Overall kind of a sweet brew with a lot of flavor, but it is more like Lambic than a Fruit Beer. Although it might be quite tasty mixed with a dry stout.

500 ml bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy reddish purple color with a small pinkish head that doesn’t last. The aroma and flavor have raspberry jam, some tart character, light pale malts, not much else, just a bit more bang than the cherry version.

0.355 bottle. Clear, dark crimson color and a small, reddish head. Aroma of raspberries, grass, citruses, and a hint of sugar. Taste is obviously very sweet and fruity though it has the sourness typical for raspberries too. Medium body, slick texture, and average carbonation. Finish seems very genuinely raspberry-like, kudos. Overall a standard but well-made fruit beer.

550ml bottle at Beer Station, Xiamen. Pours hazy red brown with a dissipating white head. Can get the raspberry aroma from a mile off. Just immense raspberry with some sourness. Nice.

Bottle at the Anchor Tap, 03/01/15. Cherry red with a decent crimson covering. Nose is raspberry syrup, light straw, faint smoke, light cherry and red berry notes. Taste comprises raspberries, sweet notes, berry pulp. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet close. Decent enough fruit beer, better than I’d expected, if a little sweet overall!

650ml bottle purchased at the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Deep red in colour with a pinkish coloured head, good retention, excellent lacing. The aroma has lots of raspberries, white sugar sweetness, a bit tart. The flavour is quite sweet with lots of raspberries, jam and juice, tart as well. Sweet mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes long and sweet with more raspberries. The raspberry flavour in this is nice. Never syrupy, actually tastes like real fruit.
