3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 cagou007 (149) - - NOV 12, 2010Surprising beer. Nice colour, fizzy and medium bodied. This organic beer develops clear aromas of strawberries and malts. After checking, it seems that strawberry taste is not artifical, but organic and natural. But most of the time, strawberry aromas taste "fake" and "artificial", even if they’re not. By the wau, a sweet and good beer, accordind to me.

The neck is stamped SI04L1.
Appearance: The body is a murky brown to pink color with a tall tan head, the head has average retention but settles into a thick coating.
Aroma: The aroma is strawberry through and through, but it’s more reminiscent of strawberry water ice or those strawberry dum-dum pops. It gets to be a bit too much over time.
Taste: The flavor is strong of artificial strawberry with sweet to slightly tart flavors, this is not going to be an easy finish alone unlike the apricot version.
Palate: Medium bodied, lively carbonation.
Overall: Not a huge fan of this, but it could easily be loved by those who like strawberry cocktails. This is very approachable.

This was amazing - one of the best fruit beers I’ve ever had. The nose was crisp and refreshing, and heavy with strawberries. Appearance was a phenomenal, deep red. Taste was off the charts - extremely tart, just the right amount of sweetness. Loaded with lots of tingling carbonation.
It’s not really all that beery, but it’s a phenomenally refreshing and delicious beverage.

Look? this is a wonderful ale. So so delicious! It’s well under-rated. Holy moly It’s tasty. Doesn’t get any better than this.

Hasy Honey/copper hue with thin off-white head. Fruity but not pungent aroma. Well balanced mouthfeel. Lingering enjoyable palate. Overall quite a tasty beer that's not too fruity and still has an ale taste.
aroma is - My favorite thing about this beer is that it doesn’t have a hint of artificial taste. It has a nice balanced mouthfeel as well, not too alcoholic, but you don’t forget that it’s an ale, either.

The term "Fruit Beer" has become something of an insult. Well, nowhere is it more apparent that a fruit beer can be an enjoyable, pleasant, or even fun that at the bottom of one of these babies.
I’ve had the pleasure of tasting this brew twice, once when I was just starting to try beer (when I correctly identified it as a good sweet starting point) and then once again after being very satisfied with the Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout. It was just as fun and tasty as I remembered. Pop that cap and you’ll swear you were standing over a pot of cooking strawberry jelly. It’s SUPER intense, and very pleasant. The taste is malty and sweet, it hits your taste buds like a tangy carbonated strawberry juice, and then settles into a malty smooth beer with just the kind of aftertaste you’re looking for. There’s nothing artificial about this, its just good beer, and good fruit, combined to make (what else?) a good fruit beer. Not the best choice for someone looking for a bitter beer, and not a good choice for someone looking to get drunk. This is a beer to sit with and enjoy: a sweet reward after a long day, and a personal favorite of mine.

Take it for what it is! This is a fruit beer. Every other fruit beer I’ve had (except for lambic) has been ’just a little fruit smell’ or ’just a little fruit taste’. This stuff is just too cool. If you want a genuine, well crafted, fermented fruit beverage, this stuff is unstoppable. Lambics don’t have the beer edge that this has. They get the fruit aspect, and they’re bubbly but they’re closer to wine.
Fruit beer, people! And at the quality Sam Smith seems to deliver on consistently.

Sample at brewfest. Lots of strawberry flavor and aroma on this one. Decent, but too sweet and tastes almost fake.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 pentaz (460) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 25, 2013
Bottle. Pours hazy golden with almost no head. Aroma is dominated by strawberry youghurt, artificial sweetener, a little tart fruit, some malt.
Taste is medium sweet. Body is light+, texture is slick, carbonation is soft. Finish is strawberry, light fatty and dry.

Honey-colored, clear, no head. I was a bit skeptical, but I should have known that Sam Smith’s would bring it. The aroma is - well, strawberries - fresh ones, too. My favorite thing about this beer is that it doesn’t have a hint of artificial taste. It has a nice balanced mouthfeel as well, not too alcoholic, but you don’t forget that it’s an ale, either.

Bottle. Reddish-amber beer with a cream head. Big strawberry aroma. Strawberry and light malt flavor. Medium bodied. Strawberry and light malt linger with light earthiness.
