Golden colour, floral bouquet and light flavour of newly mowed hay.

Brewed with great care using only malted barley, hops, medium-soft water and a bottom-fermenting yeast; matured at low temperatures to bring out its delicate flavour and soft hop-character finish.

The cold maturation period allows the bottom-fermenting yeasts to secondary ferment and improve the lager’s flavour, purity and condition.

Bottle, Poured pale yellow with thin white head. Good lacing. Aroma of bread and grass. Light bodied, sweet up front, short lasting flavor. Overall, a slightly above average lager, probably much better from the source.

Very malty..caramel tones dominate. It was a bit watery on the flavor, but there was enough that it was satisfying. Aroma was weak and a bit soapy, but mostly the sweet flavor was apparent. Great pour, nice lacing and foamy head. I would drink again, but more for the refreshing quality than flavor.

This should be interesting. When I think of English beer, I think of the famous stouts, ales, and IPA’s. I don’t normally associate lagers with England. Here goes: Pale golden color with high density white head. Has that yeasty coconut smell that American lagers have and this one is pronounced even before the head fades away. Taste is mild sweetness, but to put it in perspective; a high-quality version of an American lager. It has that yeasty-coconut smell with creamed corn characteristics. I don’t like it. For a good lager, you have to go to Bavaria or the Czech Republic. I’ll leave the ales and stouts to the Brits, they do it well.

I usually hate lagers, but this was very clean and refreshing. It pours a crystal clear straw color with a foamy head. It delicately laced the glass. The smell was very clean. The flavor was refreshing, consisting of light grain and a gentle noble hop tartness. The finish was crisp and dry.

I was quite dissapointed with this beer. Mine may have been old though. Not much flavor.

Pours crisp and clear with a medium head, and carbonation. Smells softly of sweet grass, with a slight malted barley, and honey. Tastes of dampened barley and wet hay, with almost a corn cob tone. All with a tad of hop bitterness at the end.

Golden, well rounded lager.Intial yeatiness gives way to slightly bitter taste.Fades to a fairly light bodied brew that reminds you alot of ’weiss’ rather than lager.

Very good lager. Was poured from bottle bought from local General Store. Deep yellow body with a white head that quickly went away. Sweet hops filled my nose that was somewhat hindered from a cold. However again I keep saying it Samuel Smith know how to produce fine clean beers. It seems you are getting a clean strong beer no matter what style it is. This Lager would be the one I pick after 18 holes of golf somewhere in England, might fine.

Nothing special, alittle disappointing. Tasted like average lager. Not worth the price, get a LaBatt’s Blue instead...

Clean grain profile with touch of hops. Delicate carbonation and thin palate. Slight corn finish, but all in all enjoyable session beer.
