COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Golden colour, floral bouquet and light flavour of newly mowed hay.

Brewed with great care using only malted barley, hops, medium-soft water and a bottom-fermenting yeast; matured at low temperatures to bring out its delicate flavour and soft hop-character finish.

The cold maturation period allows the bottom-fermenting yeasts to secondary ferment and improve the lager’s flavour, purity and condition.

From bottle pourd a sparkling golden yellow with a frothy white head. Had a light sour tinge in the finish probably from the carbination. Over all a good, easy drinking beer.

Aroma: Lightly sweet, with malt present. ... Appearance: Deep gold, with very little head. ... Flavor: More complex than most domestic lagers. Crisp up front, malty, sweet middle, dry finish. ... Palate: delightfully dry. Overall: Another solid selection from ol’ Sammy Boy.

A very nice beer that suffers from clear glass and extended time in packaging. However, most fail to note that it does have a nice malt character and an interesting (if light) hop character. Bitteress is well balanced and the fermentation is clean. Hop aroma is OK.

A refreshing, pleasant, malty pale lager with a frothy head. Well-balanced, with a clean finish. A very good beer, but a little too sweet for my taste.

Not quite fair to review this without a side by side comparison to the organic version. Clean cereal notes on the subtle nose. Balanced citrus. Very enjoyable.

Samuel’s Smith’s Pure Brewed Lager is decent. Not my first choice because it is a little boring

Poured from 550ml bottle into large dimpled mug. Aroma - Very light malt, grassy, a bit of lemon. Appearance - Pale straw yellow in color with pure white 1 finger creamy head. Head diminishes very quickly, but leaves nice lacing. Flavor - Maltier than I would expect, grassy, slight citrus and floral on the finish. Palate - Light and crisp. Not overly carbonated. Overall - I’m not a big fan of lagers, but this would be a good lager to give to friends stuck on American macro ’lagers’. Crisp, refreshing and flavorful.
