COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Golden colour, floral bouquet and light flavour of newly mowed hay.

Brewed with great care using only malted barley, hops, medium-soft water and a bottom-fermenting yeast; matured at low temperatures to bring out its delicate flavour and soft hop-character finish.

The cold maturation period allows the bottom-fermenting yeasts to secondary ferment and improve the lager’s flavour, purity and condition.

Very attractive golden color. It practically glows. Big foamy head fades to and stays at a nice eight inch in thickness. Slightly hazy. Aroma is mostly malty. Completely clean and appropriately easy drinking. Medium bodied with tiny bubbles of carbonation. This beer is driven by sliky smooth malts but a touch of hops coming out in the finish brings everything together. So refreshing and smooth it practically drinks itself.

From the bottle at Yeoman’s Road Pub. Literally the only lager I’d drink on a regular basis. I have never found a lager (a style I don’t like) that I like better than this.

Light yellow. Nose is malty, mildly sweet. A truly lovely lager, crisp and a bit tart, bit grassy. Nice hops at the end balancing the sweeter malts. Palate is nice, bit thick and chewy. Great stuff.

Bought from a tiny wine shop in Musselburgh, forget the name I’m afraid, very near to Brunton Hall and Staggs pub, great selection of beers, can be pricey though. This is great! smooth and malty, with a complex aroma and a fantastic finish.I’ve enjoyed this for years, but it is so difficult to come by in Scotland.

A new favorite lager. Will buy again and again. Crisp, light, and makes me happy when I want something simple.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 11/15/2013. Pours fairly crystal clear pale golden color with a 1 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops ,and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean and robust flavors for a pale lager as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent pale lager style. All around great balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
