Cask at the princess Louise in holburn. Golden clear coloured pour with a cascading creamy head. Aroma is nutty base malts, some raisin. Flavour is composed of nutty malts with a little caramel, raisin and dried fruits, tangy fruit in the finish. Palate is creamy with moderate carbonation, very easy going. Thick lace on the glass. I enjoyed this, classic bitter.

Poured clear amber with an off white head. Aroma of bitter hops and soft malt. Light body, flavour is overly bitter, not much fruit apparently.

Keg at Fitzroy Tavern. Pale orange, hazy, sparkling, small dense foamy white head, full thick lacing. No discernable aroma. Body is light, pretty smooth, medium carbonation. Taste is soda water, twiggy, bready maltiness, soft bitterness. Very watery and not suited to keg. Marginally better than their standard lagers.

Cittie Of Yorke. Keg. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and crisp. Light malts. Mellow bitter hops, touch of ripe fruits but mostly just mild bitterness. Light finish. If you were blindfold you would likely think this a brown bitter.

Keg Cittie Of Yorke London 27/05/14. An old fashioned keg bitter. Light gold with a white head and lace. Creamy and malty. Not much going on. Low hopping. Not got the nastiness of for example John Smith’s Smooth but it’s very simple.

Pint in the Lyceum Tavern (The Strand). Pronounced maltyness, restrained bitterness and fairly sweet. Overall not bad for a 'smooth' bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
