Cittie Of Yorke. Keg. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and crisp. Light malts. Mellow bitter hops, touch of ripe fruits but mostly just mild bitterness. Light finish. If you were blindfold you would likely think this a brown bitter.

Keg Cittie Of Yorke London 27/05/14. An old fashioned keg bitter. Light gold with a white head and lace. Creamy and malty. Not much going on. Low hopping. Not got the nastiness of for example John Smith’s Smooth but it’s very simple.

Pint in the Lyceum Tavern (The Strand). Pronounced maltyness, restrained bitterness and fairly sweet. Overall not bad for a 'smooth' bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at Shirebrook BRSA Club - Amber body, ridiculously thick head that masked all the early aromas. Overly chilled, but came through with some maltiness and caramel bits. Very drinkable, and surprisingly not bad.

On tap @ the Cramond Inn. Pours golden to amber with a decent head. The nose has honey and hay. The taste has honey and cornflakes then citrus. Predominantly malty in body and texture. Medium bodied well balanced with a good texture and finish. Overall nice bitter on the light end.

Cask@Swan and Three Signets, Durham. Golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is yeasty and bitter, and the flavour is bitter with yeasty and roasted qualities. Overall a reasonable but basic bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg at The Three Goats Heads, Oxford. Amber with fizzed head. Sweet, malty thin beer with a wet cardboard flavour. Served over cold which delays aroma and flavours coming through. Probably a good thing.

Cask pint at the Chandos, London. Gorgeous appearance, a bright light orange with a thin, filmy head. Nose is soft and dry but with a hint of fruitiness that transforms unexpectedly into a mild tartness in the taste. Earthy and satisfying.
