thenumber1g (68), Cary, North Carolina, USA Apr 25, 2009 500 ml bottle poured a dark brown with a thick creamy head. Tangy sweet flavor. Went down extremely smooth and was very easy to drink. I liked it. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Apr 21, 2009 500 ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Darkest brown in color with a creamy tan head. Aromas of licorice, smoked malt, and black coffee. Flavor is dark fruity with prune and grape, dark chocolate overtones, light smoke, and roasted malts. A little watery, easy to drink. CanIHave4Beers (835), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Apr 20, 2009 A very deep almost black porter with a nice very dark ruby tint when held up to the light. There is a somewhat loose but very big tan head on the top. I normally don’t mention it but for whatever it’s worth this has one of my all time favorite beer labels. Aroma has a nice chocolate, roasty, and raisin character with sort of an odd chemical thing going on in the back ground. The flavor is wonderful packed with coca some mild coffee, a deep roastiness almost to the point of burnt and more featuring more bitterness than usually profiled in this style. Classic but different. Very good. terrybail (331), London, Ontario, Canada Apr 16, 2009 500ml bottle from Ryans Party Store in Port Huron
Pours a dark ruby red when held up to the light good sized head and lacing all the way down the glass

cheeta (858), Langå, Denmark Apr 15, 2009 Moderate malty aroma. Large, creamy, off-white head. Excellent lacing. Mostly lasting longevity. Dark brown body. Light sweet flavor. Medium palate. altehkiller (71), , California, USA Apr 14, 2009 almost black with lots of roasted malts with some chocolate and coffee as well. a good porter with a lot of flavor, but a but too expensive JHunter (242), British Columbia, Canada Apr 11, 2009 pours a dark black with a very foamy head. light aroma and but a nice taste of dry roasted barley and rasins. MBison (548), Southern Highlands, Australia Apr 7, 2009 Bottle (500ml). Poured extremely dark brown (virtually black) with a small, dense, lightly tanned rocky head which lasted well. Aroma was of toasted malts with dark chocolate, earthy hops, coffee, blackberries, light notes of horse blanket and a touch of vanilla. Flavor was of chocolate malts with a mild lactic sourness, toast, black coffee, light earthy notes, hints of blueberries and a dry finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry/toasty mouthfeel, almost chewy texture and a good length finish.
