~Pours black with reddish tint and big creamy tan head. ~Aroma of roasted chocolate malts. ~Roasted malt flavor with chocolate. Some glass from bottle. ~Thin oily feel. Bitter roast aftertaste. ~ Not real impressed with this one. Maybe I my expectations were too high. Pretty average porter. I wish it was more full feeling.

550ml bottle from Bentalls, Kingston-on-Thames. Deep mahogany with a thin tan head - fast-fading to leave a slender ring; aroma of demarara sugar and well roasted barley; creamy and light in the mouth without being thin, lots of chocolate malt and some sugar, but not too sweet;dry finish with roasted nuts and some licorice, leaving a silky smoothness behind. An excellent porter.

Dark brown with nice khaki head. Smells very malty, some chocolate, and brown sugar. Flavor profile of chocolate malt, barley, licorice, sugar, and toasted malt...somewhat light and watery mouthfeel, but excellent bitter finish that lasts. Very nice porter for a macro producer. Very well balanced

Bottle, pour is dark brown with a two finger off-white and chocolate shake colored head, there are light dry roasted malt fragrances with faint chocolate and brown sugar sweetness (brown sugar appears more as this warms), some nut fragrances to, flavor of roasted malt, caramel, dry chocolate, roasted nut, roasted malt flavor is complex, some licorice and roasted malt bitterness that lingers after the finish, nice mouth feel that is creamy, Porter with lots of good flavors with a dry roasted malt kick.

Bottle. Sweet, nutty, smokey aroma. Dark brown with an average tan head. Sweet roasted malt flavor with a slightly sour note and a light bitter finish. Very smooth and rich, you can make a dinner out of this beer. Medium bodied, creamy, average carbonation, with a dry finish. This is a great English Porter, I think this is the beer that inspired all the American breweries to put a twist on the Porter.
