This is a great Porter. Dark black with thick creamy tan head. The aroma is a little different leading you to expect a strong alcoholic taste. But the taste could not be smoother. Very roasty and little chocolate, but an easy drinker.

33cl bottle. Dark opaque brown, thin beige head. Very salty nose, little liquorice, toffee and some funk even. Mildy acidic and sourish flavor, liquorice and burned malts. Almost medium bodied with low carbonation. Salty and sourish, not much else.

Bottle. Nearly black with a thick and foamy tan head. Aromas of coffee/roasted malt, licorice and chocolate. Flavours of caramel, coffee, chocolate and licorice. Lovely London porter. Always a pleasure to enjoy.

Excellent example of an English porter. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Earthy, roasty, light chocolate and coffee. Well balanced. Clean.

I really, really like this porter. I think Samuel Smith is an excellent brewery in general but this Porter is really a tasty treat.
