Bottle. Nearly black with a thick and foamy tan head. Aromas of coffee/roasted malt, licorice and chocolate. Flavours of caramel, coffee, chocolate and licorice. Lovely London porter. Always a pleasure to enjoy.

Excellent example of an English porter. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Earthy, roasty, light chocolate and coffee. Well balanced. Clean.

Dark brown with tan quickly fading head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, licorice and sugar. Thick bodied taste of coffee, chocolate, caramelized sugar, roasted malts with a semi-dry finish.

I really, really like this porter. I think Samuel Smith is an excellent brewery in general but this Porter is really a tasty treat.

Bottle. Color is almost black, with a frothy, brown head. Aroma is earthy, a mixture of coffee and chocolate, maybe also raisin or prune. Taste is complex: coffee, caramel, dark chocolate, and licorice. There are smoky elements to the taste and aroma as well.Very smooth, slightly bitter, but not very dry. Pleasant aftertaste and very drinkable. Delicious.
