| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Some very light roasty olfactory. Beautiful pour for a porter, very attractive plackish brown with a tan head. Barely any carbonation on the palate. Interesting roasty flavors, mild and well behaved. Some dark maly backround hints. Overall, less than I expected but still decently good. Would not hesistate to purchase again if the price was not so high. Did not detect much bitterness in this brew. almosi (279), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Has a very dark black color, with a bronzed and very small head. The aroma is of nut, the caramel, and the sweet coffee. It is strong and good. The flavor does not fulfill the expectations of the aroma. It is a weak flavor, with some characteristics of coffee, but weak. has before other porter better. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 28, 2007 Bottle @ The Duke of Argyll, Soho. Deep amber with an off white head. Nose of roasted malt, candi sugar and cocoa. Taste is similar, roast malt, caramel, cocoa and coffee with a nutty hint, pretty much what I expect from a porter. This immediately followed an Oatmeal Stout and honestly I quite preferred this. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA

Aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee and fruit. Flavor is burnt and roasted malt. Nice dry finish. GG (1615), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 An amazing beer when you think about the fact that the beer I had was bottled in clear glass. I think they might be making their beer in darker glass now, but the fact remains that the beer I had was in clear glass and it was wonderful. A nice aroma full of toffee, dark bread, brown sugar and a bit of chocolate. Appearance was a bit lighter than I’m used to. It looked a bit like a cola when poured. A nice head though throughout. Mouthfeel is spot on with a creamyness I really enjoyed. Flavors were much of the same as the aroma....chocolate, toffee but it was also a touch nutty. Very nice beer. sneagrams3 (1738), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Tasted 11/29/07. Typical 550ml bottle. Dark with an opaque brown hue. Lacing taupe head. Aromas of dark fruit and a touch cocoa. Fudgy malty aromas. Raisins and a vanilla nuance. Big toast and dark fruit. Raiains and citrus. Touch acidic. Tingling effervescence with a medium bodied palate. Bitter hoppy finish. This is a great beer and a true example of the English tradition.
