(Bottle) Pours dark brown. Roasted aroma with a light caramelly backbone. Undertones of banana, dark chocolate and coffee. Also some vinous tones of dark berries. Dark berries, coffee and dark chocolate in the flavour along with some some milky hints. Finish of with roasted malt dryness and some notes of cocoa. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Must have been an old one. Poured dark with a medium head but had a stenchiness more than an aroma, and a taste that just wasn’t right.

Bottled 355ml. It pours a nice black beer with a big creamy tanned head. The aroma is of smoked malt, apples, seaweed, coffee and plums. Some woody and salty elements in the taste. Plums, milky notes, dark chocolate and some medicinal herbs make this porter quite interesting. Some figs? Vinous with a very enjoyable mouthfeel. Floral, herbal and fruity. Full bodied. The finish is rather bitter, powerful with reminiscent notes of licorice.

Bottle. Jet black with beige head. Chocolate / coffee / smokey aroma. Tastes of coffee / chocolate / slight fruitiness / caramel. Overall a very good porter.

Bottle, pours almost impenetrable black, with a very thick head that dissipates to about a half inch after a minute or so. Ruby highlights when illuminated. Nose is heavy with roasted barley, chocolate, slight burnt coffee grounds. Taste is very smooth, almost lactose-like, with notes of chocolate and bitter, tangy sugar coming in. My favorite porter not predeced by the word "baltic."

100th rating finally, ok here goes. 12 oz bottle pours a deep, dark brown. Can see ruby highlights held up to the light. Small tan head. Very dry mouthfeel. Flavors are just the right balance of coffee, malts, toffee and some hops for balance. If the mouthfeel had been a little heavier I would rated it higher. Ever so slight bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a jet black with a nice beige head. The taste is mostly a burnt malt and hops. Smooth and easygoing. Good, not comparable to the Oatmeal Stout.

Great chocolate and coffee aroma. Looks reddish black with a thick tan head. Flavor is smoky, coffee, chocolate, and malty. Palate is thick and coating with moderate carbination. Overall an excellent, smooth porter.
