Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2007 Dark molasses....brown with a brown sugar head.....mmmmm smells like easter in a glass, after cherries and alcohol were added of course....molasses and toffee, melted into bakers chocolate....then I enjoy...enjoy the feel and taste as well....finish is lingering, and I anxiously await the next sip and sips BigBang (210), Indiana, USA Aug 17, 2007 very unique and flavorful porter. Nicely blends many flavors into a strong but not singularly overpowering taste. Very repeatable beverage and another classic Samuel Smith. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA Aug 17, 2007 This Samuel Smith Taddy Porter (1 pt. 2.7 oz. bottle) was excellent, maybe the best porter I’ve ever drunk. It was a deep, deep ruby-brown, just about black, with a pretty but short-lived chocolate-colored head. It had a strong roasted, smoky, maybe even oaky, aroma. Sweet hints of coffee and chocolate bolstered the malt taste. Again, this is an outstanding porter. venom04 (15), West Virginia, USA Aug 16, 2007 bought at pub 12 oz.pours black with almost no head.sweet with notes of coffee and malt.great brew, as with all the samuel smith’s. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Aug 12, 2007 Updated: Jan 2, 2008it poured as black as night with little to no head. smelled a little sweet and i could smell some malt and coffee. it tasted great and it felt great on the palate. another great samuel smith beer. Hollywoodt (174), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Aug 11, 2007 Poured a dark brown with a decent size tan head. The aroma had me thinking that this wasn’t gonig to be that great. It had some dark malt in there, but something else that just didn’t smell right. The taste was fantastic. Sweet dark malt, some chocolate and a hint of coffee and caramel. A better aroma would have made this so much better. Still a very good brew. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 6, 2007 This is a fantastic porter...amazingly complex. At first it seemed a bit thin to my liking...but got way better as I went along (as it warmed, I guess). This is one of the beers that even to my untrained tastebuds, I can detect a change in taste as I drink. The roasted malt and chocolate flavor hits you right away...then there is a distinct fruitiness that the reviews seem to differ on what it is (I swear it tasted like apple to me), but it was good...and then the coffee taste at the end. This was a darned good beer and worth seeking out. Plus, "Taddy Porter" is just a cool name. tangentrider (144), USA Aug 4, 2007 Molasses malt aroma; dark brown ale; slightly bitter, malty flavor; clean finish.
