Dark dark brown body with a sweet roasted nose with faint chocolate. Smooth body with a roasted malt character and chocolate flavor.

On tap. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Roasty and chocolate aroma and taste with a semi-dry finish.

Bottle: Pour out of the bottle is almost like a nitro can. Nice! Is almost opeque black with a large sized tan head that lingers around for a while. Aroma is big on malt, a light funk, a roasted note, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is smooth lightly coffee like some oxidation in the taste as well, aftertaste is like a chocolate cake. Very nice. This is an excellent sipper of a porter. Eventhough, it’s only 5% alcohol.

Classic porter. In English style, Samuel Smith’s porter is the definition of a porter: a nicely balanced dark beer with hints of smoke, coffee, and chocolate.

Very nice. Pours black with a dark head. Aroma and taste of chocolate. You can definitely taste the roasted barley. I like the way the chocolate taste hits in a second wave. Very nice porter.

old rating: 8/4/8/3/16 - 3.9 pours a midnight black with a ruby tint when held to the light, very large dark brown thick head, and some lacing. smells of chocolate, charcoal, strong roasted coffee, a touch of licorice, roasted malts, some nuts, and molasses. tastes very smooth and thick, roasted barley, bittersweet chocolate, touch of coffee, and a little bit of nuts, ends dry and bitter.

completely black colour, off white head that disappears quickly. What a promising smell! caramel and chocolate, very well balanced taste - full of vanilla and caramel, but a little short and after some sips it seems a little commercial and not too complex.

Bottled in those infamous Sam Smith bottles. Pours black with a tall beige head. Aroma is bakers chocolate and cookie. More of the bakers chocolate flavors finishing lightly dry and bitter. Decent.
