downender (2538), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Apr 29, 2007 550ml bottle. Deep brown colour with a foamy off-white head. Aromas of chocolate, and roasted coffee. Very easy to drink with a slightly oily texture and more roasted coffee bean flavours. Very good. DrHomolka (726), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 25, 2007 355ml bottle. Pours brown with a bubbly tan head. A nice deep chocolate aroma. Thin, bubbly mouthfeel that leaves a lasting sweet aftertaste. Way too watery and the taste is very mild. The aroma led me to believe this was going to be great but the taste is lacking. I’ll take their oatmeal stout over this every day of the week. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 24, 2007 Deep black with a loose foam head, light roast malt aroma, with a rounded roast malt flavour with a hint of coffe and low level bitter sweet malt. FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 23, 2007 Bottle. 12 FL. OZ. Pours black with small dark tan head that quickly disappears. Sweet, malty aroma. Full-bodied with a soft, balanced palate. Initially sweet, with a moderately bitter finish. Good brew. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Apr 21, 2007 Bottle. One of my all time favorites. Roasty, malty & delicious. A little light in the body but otherwise great Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Apr 20, 2007 Bottle: The aroma has lots of chocolate as well as fruity vinuous notes with moderate plum and faint roasted malt. It pours a dark reddish-brown with some faint transparency and a large creamy beige head with very good retention and sporadic lacing The flavor has moderate chocolate right from the beginning. Fruity vinuous notes linger in the background with light plum. It finishes with moderate roasted malt and nuttiness with just the slightest hint of bitter coffee. Light-medium bodied with very soft carbonation. Quietman (160), Florida, USA Apr 20, 2007 Bottle.Chocolate, coffee,Dark malt aroma.Medium body, smooth.Easy to drink.Good. blinesam (233), USA Apr 18, 2007 I prefer almost all the other samuel smith’s to this one. Tastes like your normal, coffe-like, oily textured porter. So think it almost gives you a headache, not refreshing.
