One of the best porters I’ve had. The only thing off really is the aroma, which is a bit too metallic. The metal continues with tasting, but is more subdued. Upon tasting there there are notes of milk and dark chocolate, blended into roasted malt. Mouth-feel is perfect, not too heavy or light. If it wasn’t for the aroma the score would be higher.

12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods in Omaha. Pours black with a thick, foamy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Taste was sweet, nutty and coffee. Very good.

Black body with a pale beige head.
Malty roasted caramel aroma with notes of liquorice.
Rather dry and medium bitter. Light malt flavour base with some roasted notes. Lightly acidic. Bitter finish.
Medium body with soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.

In my experience this is a rather mild porter, and I expected something with a fuller taste. Besides, dry and sour never works for me. I prefer sweeter and richer modern porters to this.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with a frothy light tan head, aroma has dark malts with some sweet chocolate, taste has chocolate, dark fruits, some coffee, decent.

Rated from old notes. Aroma is very much like a wine. Rather sweet with a spritzy wine/brandy undertone. Settles into a well balanced, full-bodied drink with a slight sourness, with the malts becoming more evident as you progress. Quite good.

An extremely interesting, complex aroma. At first, fruity esters that made me think of pineapples in syrup. On a further level, I got a S’mores Pop Tart aroma. Obviously, there’s a decent level of caramel on the aroma as well. Approaching a dark brown color with a very tan head and a seemingly high level of carbonation. Light to medium bodied with a very dry, somewhat slightly bitter finish. The finish lingers longer than most and it’s very pleasant.

Gently roasted. Farmy porter, with all the usual porter elements. Sophisticated. Great with Christmas meal. Medium bodied. If I’d have a beer like this every time I asked for dark beer, I’d be a happy fellow.

0,355 bottle. A malty nose. A little sweet. Maybee some coffee also. Taste is nice with malt, roasted, some coffee and some dark chocolate, A good porter, but far from as good as the imp stout from Samuel Smith.

355 ml bottle.
Pours black color with a medium sized off-white head. Berries and roasted malts on the aroma, dark cocoa and hops. Flavor is slightly fruity and hoppy, dark berries and malts on the flavor, subtle chocolate character. Dry and bitter palate. Refined and clean but something’s missing.
