One of my favorite porters on the planet. This is one of the tastiest beers out there. My only complaint is the price most places charge. $4 buck a bottle. Still I have to treat my self to one of the classics every now and then. Definetly a must try.

Cioccolatosa e caffettosa come tradizione vuole, malti tostati e affumicati avvolgono naso e palato lasciando un piacevole retrogusto persistente. Setosa, cremosa, beverina; buona!

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Quite good. The taste is quite sweet with some caramel or maybe smoke. Soft and full-bodied.

Bottle in LA. Taster. All Samuel Smith beers have that distinct profile, perhaps from the water: Sourness, astringency, soy sauce. For me these all detract from an otherwise nice porter. Canít enjoy this one.

Black colour, big beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee, hops, hint of smoke. Dry lightly sweet taste, bitter finish and aftertaste. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. Good porter, quite enjoyable.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2015 550 ml bottle. About time I got to this ale. Itís pretty widely available so itís been passed up on numerous occasions in favor of new or rarer brews. Pours with a large, durable head that manages to be both kind of sudsy as well as creamy. Near black, opaque body. The head limits the aromatics. After it settles a while, thereís an appealing mix of roasted grains with toffee, dates and dark dried fruits. The flavor carries a generous load of dark malts with faint smoke, no char, and some spicy hops Overall: rich and flavorful. An excellent English porter thatís up with Fullerís London Porter as among the best of the style.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2015 Black with quick diminishing brown head. Aroma- light roasted malt. Taste- toasty malt, chocolate, coffee and light grassy bitterness. Soft and easy drinking. I can see why this is an iconic Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown, soft carbonation, seems cloudy. Malty, roasted. Soft with a moderate bitter finish. Ok.
