A: Pretty light on the aroma... a bit of malt. A: Looks great. Pours a little thin but the head is a great cream color. Otherwise dark black. T: Taste is alright. Roasty, malty. Nothing special but pretty solid. A bit of acidity in the finish. Very earthy as well. Hint of vanilla... agressive bitterness on the finish. P: Sits pretty agressive. Medium/light body. Overall a nice porter but not my favorite. There are some good notes of roastiness and malt is well balanced but overall the beer is a little light... The finish has a bit too much bitterness and a touch of acidity. I’m not really impressed by this beer and there are other porters I would rather reach for.

550 ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Looks: Deep blackish brown colour; Two finger head with crumpety beige foam which lasted for 3 minutes. Beautiful sticky lacing with active small carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant roasted dark malt, with roasted barley, vanilla, strong cocoa, cream, chocolate syrup, caramel, sugar, yeast and faint lemon.

Taste: Mid to light sweet dark Ale malt, with strong roasted nuts, metallic, strong caramel, cream, chocolate, moderate black coffee, molasses, light dark bread, strong yeast, lime, bitter hops and grass.

Body: Close to light body. Slick and creamy palate.

Mouth Feel: Very malty and quite well-bodied, not as watery as the Nut Brown Ale. Strong and yummy roasted nuts. Good caramel backbone with nice creaminess, good light touch of black coffee and chocolate not as overwhelming as most Stouts. Fairly bready and yeasty with limey hops to round. Nice!

Hoppiness: Faint lemon in nose, Lime and grass in taste. Bitterness is moderate for a lasting, fairly astringent strong malty finish.

After taste: Fairly dry. Creamy malty and fairly bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one has very solid roasted maltyness and creaminess in looks, taste and feel. All bonuses to a standard Porter style and this is more than just drinkable. Very enjoyable indeed!

0.355 l bottle from Alko. Dark brown colour with tan head. Aroma has chocolate and hops. Taste has roasted malts and hops. This has lots of hops. Well, it resembles some very dark chocolate with more than 80% of Cocoa. Don’t cool it too much to get all the taste.

Vesijättömaata. Salmiakkisuklaata. Liian laiha maku vaikka koostumus oli paksu. Siinä ja siinä hyvä.

Black body, light brown head. Aroma has some coffee, roasted malts, choco and lots of molasses. Flavour turns bit light and sweet. Nice amount of flavours and very smooth but leaves watery and bit too fizzy feeling.

I poured it from a bottle into a glass. It pours a very dark brown with a thick tan head and lacing. The aroma is licorice and dried fruit. The taste is the same with some coffee bitterness and roastiness. It balances creamy with surprising carbonation. These guys know how to make a good, complex beer and still keep it relatively simple.

Bottle. Deep brown color with a medium sized frothy beige head. Aroma of oak, coffee and notes of licorice. Smoky taste with some bitterness. Medium body.
