3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a round tan head. The aroma is dark chocolate, liqourice and roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth creamy toffee malt palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Another winner from Sam Smiths.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours burgundy-tinged brown with a fat and fluffy tan head that looks like hot chocolate and sticks around. Heavy lacing. Aroma is tangy sour malts, bread and a touch of chocolate. Taste is toasted sour malt, caramel, roast coffee. Some tanginess bridges into a touch of bitterness. Just the right amount of sweetness and very well-balanced with the sourness and roasted flavors. Aftertaste is finely roasted malts. A distinctive, easy-drinking and classic porter.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours tar black with a muted aroma. The body is medium with the right amount of CO2. The flavors are mostly roasted barley rather than chocolate or black patent malt, the backbone malts I like in a porter. Dry, clean style, but not much depth of flavor.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
pours black, clear, with ruby showing through the edges. Aroma is caramel and raisins, stone fruit. Flavors are toastier, with just a bit of roasted malt, coffee, and baking chocolate with a bit of raisin. Delightfully complex.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
355 ml. bottle, pours, a black colour with a big head and there’s always a ring and lace. Smell of chocolate, coffee, caramel, liquorice and some burnt wood. Creamy palate, so not full, taste is the same as smell, burnt notes more accentuated, but all is there: chocolate, coffee, caramel, and liquorice. Bitterswwet finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Although somewhat overrated, the Taddy Porter is definitely a good beer. Not that complex and a quite feminine version of a classic danish porter. I use it in food alot and it compliments the fatter food like duck or goose, but even with liver and onions this brew seems to shine. Some liqurice, some malt with a little tickle on your tongue. A little weak on alcohol to be a real porter, but good on a everyday basis with that perfect blend of bitterness and sweetness only a porter will deliver. Aftertaste...what? Where? Recommended if you find a good bargain, but go for a real Dane if you have the opportunity.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is of roasted grain, coffee, chocolate syrup. Nice super dark ruby/black pour with small khaki head, leaving lacing. Perfect balance of sweet, bitter, and slight tangy sourness. Creamy mouthfeel, full bodied, complex character, light carbonation, long finish. Refreshing yet rich enough to sip and enjoy without being too heavy. It has all the makings of a classic porter, highly recommend.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark with a thin head, deep rich burnt coffee and malt flavours. Strong taste but not a lot of alcohol. I liked it.
