noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA Feb 28, 2005 What a treat! By far the most complex Porter I’ve tried. Gorgeous dark color with mahogany highlights. Nice head burnt flour colored. Aromas? Where do I start? Citrus, malt, berries, herbs, coffee and cream, chocolate. The flavor is well-balanced coffee, butterscotch, oatmeal, fig and grapefruit, medium roasted malt. Consistently flavorful from swig to swallow. Solid mouthfeel. It will take several more to get both hands around everything in this one. Buy it if you can! Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA Jul 11, 2005 Absolutely my benchmark for sweeter style porters, (Fuller’s for the dryer style). Perfect color, perfect balance, finish, etc. etc. Has a candied apple sweetness hiding behind the slight smokiness and wonderful roasted malt flavor. If you don’t like this, just stop drinking beer. Dynamind69 (29), San Miguel, California, USA Mar 7, 2007 This is the perfect Porter,it may very well be the best one on the planet.I envy The British who can get this on tap.The Nose is heavenly with a smell like a ripe pear.It pours dark amber opaque with a lovely mocha colored head. The hops blend is perfect well balanced and full bodied. It has just enough bitter to balance the sweet cholocate malts.I love Porters and this is best I’ve ever had, fabulous. The palate is slightly effervescent leaving your mouth watering with a brilliant and electric aftertaste.Bravo Samuel Smith Taddy Porter.A true Brewmaster made this amazing Porter. djnicotine99 (17), Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA Oct 26, 2001 Geeyawleebub.
