| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2006 Enjoyed thanks to my wonderful fiancee’s shopping trip to a local grocery store. Samuel Smith’s Taddy Porter pours a black hue with a tan head. Aromatic notes of roasted coffee and a bitter chocolate. Thinner than a stout, this porter is still extremely hearty and delicious. It tasted quite roasty like a good full-bodied coffee. It’s semi-sweet when it warms, but before that happens it is pleasantly bitter and dry. This porter is readily available at most liquor stores and should be enjoyed by any ratebeerian. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Black hued beer having a long lasting large, creamy light brown head with excellent lacing. Lovely malt aroma with hints of molasses and caramel. No discernable carbonation. Medium-to-full bodied that starts dry with complex malty coffee, burnt fruit, and roast flavors and finishes dry with moderate roast malt flavor of average duration. A wonderful porter that is best enjoyed alone for maximal flavor enjoyment. mmanthe (12), Clemson, South Carolina, USA

This is my favorite porter. Perfect balance, nice sweetness with some chocolatey aftertaste, low carbonation. SHIG (2051), Aviano, Italy
