EValP (30), Colorado, USA Aug 4, 2006 Updated: Feb 14, 2007 Pours very dark, like fine chocolate. Good head made of small tan bubbles and a great aroma. A bit thinner than a stout and very drinkable, this beer has a sweet hint to it. Full bodied, roasted malt flavor, just as a porter should be. Looks burly at first but is a good porter to enjoy in a nonic anytime.
realbama (28), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 26, 2008 This is a solid porter. No frills, nothing quite memorable either, however. Looks good, smelt good, tasted good, but also missed out on providing me with a good aftertaste. Actually, there were no lingering effects of the beer. arventresca (156), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Aug 25, 2008 Pours Black with creamy head. Smell of roasted barley. Strong porter taste. Coffee complex. Fairly good offering. luv2brew (148), Chesterfield, Virginia, USA Aug 23, 2008 Nose comes off as a classic british ale. Its is deep dark with a off white head. There is a noticable smokiness to this one and a certain chewiness that is hard to describe. the smokiness hangs around till the end to make this one a classic EHopper (118), Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Actually, a strangely tasteless beer. Aroma and taste understated. Very easy to drink for a porter, just not a lot to think about. Light coffee, chocolate, a little sweet, a little bitter, small fiz, flavor just fades away. Don’t really need to have again. drjay44 (115), USA Aug 19, 2008 550 ml. bottle, pours a mocha colored head, no lacing, nice blackish brown color, nose with bits of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, similar flavors, not much hop, well balanced. A slab of beef would go nicely.
