Chris_Thomson (183), Luzern, Switzerland Oct 14, 2007 Zurich, 07. Pours dark brown with light beige head. Has some lightly roasted favours with full body. Not my favourite Samuel Smith’s product, but a great beer.
beer_chugger (44), Colorado, USA Sep 3, 2008 Pours a rather dark brown. Tastes of roasted malts with some minimal hints of coffee. Head is rather thick and laces the glass well. Overall, it’s a pretty good porter, though nothing very outstandish about it either. joe1961_2 (419), camberley, Surrey, England Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Good appereance with a deep brown colour and a brown, persistent foam. Coffee aroma and a roasty taste with light traces of chocolate. Bragesnak (1208), Aarhus, Denmark Sep 1, 2008 Cockney Pub, Aarhus, DK.
Bottled.
Dark brown with nice head. Aroma is of malt, coffee and dried fruit. Flavor is of caramel and notes of chocolate. Dr_Funk (80), Sorumsand, Norway Aug 31, 2008 Bottle from monopoly outlet, Oslo.
pours like Coca cola. Nice yeasty aroma with caramel and some coffee. Kinda sweet, a bit thin with metallic aftertaste. More coffee coming through.
A descent brew. afireinside96 (425), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 31, 2008 I ordered a bottle of this last night at a restaurant and for some reason it was served with a pilsner glass. Dark brown body that has a glimmer of red, creamy tan head. Smells sweetly of dark fruit roasted grains. Taste was very full and well rounded, slight bitterness, some raisin, plum, chocolate, and caramel. Yummy. Mouthfeel was full and smooth. Very good.
