As a brown english porter, this one is a solid option. Pours dark, with tan head. Very cloudy, almost dirty. Tastes dirty too, but in a good way. Honestly, this kind of porter is not my preference. Very earthy, medium bitterness, meal-in-a-bottle sort of beer. I lean towards the baltics and American styles like Stone and Anchor. But if you like that dark, medium-heavy body, this is a good choice.

550 ml. bottle, pours a mocha colored head, no lacing, nice blackish brown color, nose with bits of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, similar flavors, not much hop, well balanced. A slab of beef would go nicely.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a medium fizzy head that quickly dissipates to a ring. Aromas of sweet dark fruits, roasted coffee, a little chocolate, and some definite alcohol. Flavors of roasty coffee and chocolate, with just a touch of brown sugar and dark fruits. Fairly nice porter, maybe just a touch weak as far as palate goes.

Pours an almost opaque black with a tan head. Mouthfeel is light, with a very roasted flavour, but no bitter aftertaste, which makes it easygoing with many meals. Very nice.

Weak foamy light brown colour. Black colour. Aroma is malty with licorice and a hint of raisins notes. Flavor is malty too with coffee tones, ending in a moderately roasty finish. Light bodied.
