How the mighty have fallen. This beer is way over carbonated. Any flavor is caught in the maelstrom of fizz.

Very mild taste. Easy to drink. Very end of the drink comes in a slight malty undertone. This would be a good beer for someone who is graduating out of the mainstream beers into a higher quality of beer.

Winter Welcome is a beer that used to be a legend of the past...before I got my hands on some better beer and my taste matured. Actually, this is much better than top-rated Fullers 1845 in this style, but that is not saying anything extraordinary. This ale has a nice malt balance that Fuller’s does not. Terrible aroma--which is standard for English ales--but it is drinkable and I would give a marginal consideration for buying again.

aroma is clean pale malts and subtle hops with little specific character. appearance is pale straw yellow. flavor strikes good balance with pleasant bitterness most memorable however devoid of citrus or even pine. light plant matter note defines bitterness and the beer making it quite drinkable if otherwise unimportant.

Clear copper pour with thick white head. Smells of malt and toast. Flavor is malty and toasty with bready undertones. Medium bodied.

29th April 2008. A pleasantly malty ale with a very light touch of hops at the end. Inoffensive and pleasant.

Pours clear light amber with a 2-finger off-white head, a thin bit of which lingers with decent lacing. A nice floral aroma with the warm malts detectable as well. A nice vanilla/caramel flavor, warm, well-balanced, with a nice lingering sweet/bitter combo. A slightly creamy mouthfeel rounds out the experience. Pleasant beer.
