From bottle. Part of April Dayton Beertasting event. Pours amber with very little head. Aromas of malt and spice. Tastes similar to the nose with sweet malt. Very smooth and easy drinking.

This is dated on the label from 2005/2006, bought in 09/08, didn’t realize it was this old. Trying out a new liquor store, bottles were dusty if you get my meaning...I think this guy may have turned. No head, but a pretty amber pour. Kind of flat, somewhat sour and skunky, but with notes of raisins and nuts, with a sickly sweet phlegmy aftertaste. I think this may have turned, barely drinkable.

Bottle, pours amber with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, roasted nuts, spices. The mouthfeel is medium. I taste orange, caramel, spices, with a slightly bitter finish.

This was a tasty beer. It’s color, taste, and aroma were of a nicely understated caramel. It’s not a particularly good-looking beer, but the hops were well presented and didn’t have an off-putting bite. There was a little citrus, which was a nice complement.

Blah. Typical English strong ale. Aroma was decent. Mostly hops and butterscotch (?). Pour was a decent medium thick gold with placid bubbles and no head. Taste was mostly stale caramel, lemon and dusty hops. Little to no carbonation. Not a drainpour, but not very enjoyable overall.

Appearance is copper in color with an average sized white head. Aroma is of caramel and nuts. Flavor is of toffee caramel, and a slight alcohol warmth.
