| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a clear dark copper color, with a decent white head and good lacing. Aroma of biscuit and caramel. Flavor is a bit darker, with some toffee and perhaps cocoa present. Good amount of hops, especially in the finish. Slight pine and citrus notes as well. Light alcoholic finish. An enjoyable beer, but probably would have been more so in the dead of winter. Acknud (772), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 22, 2008 I probably should have drank this in the cold months but it wasn’t bad for a late spring screening. Dark pour with a minimal head. Lively on the tongue but not over carbonated. Malty aroma but the taste was well balanced by a crisp hop finish. gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Bottle. Bright, crystal clear copper color, big white head that quickly falls to a quarter inch. Yeasty, sour lemons on the nose. Flavors are similar to a more complex amber ale. Malts, toffee, and a decent hop profile. This didn’t blow me away, but it was plenty enjoyable and a good price. spagyetti (68), Puyallup, Washington, USA

A enjoyable ale with friends and family. But, Did you ever notice the change in undertones this ale goes through from year to year? Maybe it’s me. afireinside96 (819), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a clear reddish amber with a creamy one finger head. Smells of caramel, butterscotch, and some fruity esters. Nice body compliments butterscotch-cocoa flavor. Very good for the style, I just wish it had a little more complexity. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

This stuff was good and, though I drank it during early summer, well suited for a winter evening. It has flavors of faint hops with a nice malty, almost chocolaty backbone. It is medium bodied and a bit fizzy on the palate but settles smooth in the stomach. Overall: this stuff is good and worth a try - cool label too.
