An enjoyable festive beer well-suited to its name, but still a bit lighter for a winter special. It’s smooth and a little bitter with a soft carbonation and an excellent, frothy head. (from bottle)

Re-rate thank to Shintriad. Vintage 2005. No metallic taste, fruity and pungeant. Funky. Much better. Caramel and malts in smell. Goldeny red in colour. Looks and smells quite nice. The head is a little weak. Sweet in flavour, a little metallic, the caramel taste seeps through.

The top of the bottle says 2006 2007. The aroma is of a sweet dough. The head looks creamy and is off white in color. The head is mostly diminishing with good lacing. The body is clear and amber in color. The initial flavor is a little sweet with a little bitter hitting the back of the tongue. The finish is non-dememo and short. The body is light and the texture is watery and the carbonation is soft. the finish is a little lcoholic.

2006 bottle gifted from LCBO in Toronto. Pours a clear brown with little carbonation. Gentle spicy aroma, and a nice spicy taste, although the taste fades a tad too quickly.

Pours a deep gold into an English pint. Significant, fluffy off-white head leaves sink holes as it recedes. Crisp, a little sour, and slightly metallic.

Fruit and spice are the first things to hit the nose,a tangy fruit taste, reminds me of cranberry, with a slight hint of cinnimmon, touch of field hop in the aftertaste, very light body ,typically English, some off tastes , probaly from the long trip over here.

Uber-deep amber appearance with a concentrated, light-beige head. Good, forward roasted malt aroma backbone with smooth vanilla, a hint of spicy nutmeg, a good dose of molasses and a mild fruitiness in the distance. Large dose of molasses pervades the beginning, middle and end of the flavour range, with a long bitter-chocolate finish eventually cementing the final impression. Tight carbonation helps keep this medium/full-bodied beverage refreshing.

2006 version. Light red. Dull tasting. Light with nothing much to it. A below average beer.
