I love this beer. This is one of the most flavorful malty strong ales that I have tried. I could drink these all year.

A filtered orangey copper body, with a quickly settling frothy white head. Aromas are breads, malts, biscuits and just a hint of grassiness. Definitely more malts than hops on the tongue, with a grape and raisin centre. Overall, a decent craft brew, but it kind of gets lost in the crowd.

Pours copper with medium off-white head with lacing. Nose has very light toast notes - maybe some mild herbal hops somewhere in ther very subdued aroma. Mouthfeel is everything here - creamy with good balance between resin acids and soft malts. Flavor is simple - some mild caramel, hazelnut with a fruity, pear/orange hop finish and just a bare touch of bitterness. A simple, straightfoward british ale, if tasted blind I would have said ESB - a rather good ESB but certainly not top of its category.

smells of orange! orangey gold body with no head, tastes like smooth sweet orangey beer with a bitterness left on the tongue. not sure how it welcomes the winter

Initial taste of corriander and orange. Some spicyness at the end. Moderate carbonation. Not anything special.

0.55 bottle. Clear, light brown color and a small, white head. Aroma is composed of caramel, butter, and some malts. Taste is sweet, caramel, malts, delicate roast - not much else to it. Medium body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is also delicate and its difference from the taste is insubstantial. Overall another standard English bitter, nothing to talk about.

Very tasty beer, one of my favorite winter beers so far, 2014-2015 version, tasted like chocolate, roasty, nuts

Poured from a pint bottle into a tumbler on 12.09.14. A: Old World hop smell. Flower takes over. A: 1 finger head that is retained. See through gold body with some amber. T: Caramel and bubblegum dominate. P: Crisp and bubbly. O: This was a lot like a cream ale. It smelled and tasted like one. It was simple too. I thought that it would be more malty and complex.

Bottle from the Bottle Bank. Appearance - deep amber with a nice head. Nose - red fruit, maybe cherries. Also cakey. Maybe dried fruit. Taste - more red fruit and cake, in fact culminating in a marzipan to amaretti biscuit thing. Palate - medium bodied with a rich creamy texture and a long elegant finish. Overall - lovely beer.

Bottle from the Beers of Europe Christmas case. Copper coloured pour, no head. Figs, dates, walnuts, raisin and orchard fruit make up a Christmassy nose. Toffee apple, strawberry jam and apricot flavour. Unsurprisingly sweet.
