3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2013 bottle. Been many years since my last. Light amber with thin white head. Sweet caramel malt nose. Flavor is sweet that transitions to hop bitterness. Creamy notes with some fruit as well. Not ?standard? for seasonal but in line with what Sammy Smith has put out.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear red brown. Pilsner grain aroma with some honey and spices. Taste brings more malt and some toffee sugar. This one was a bit skunky and metallic. Creamy mouthfeel. Could leave this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden brown with a frothy Jersey cream head. Nutty, malty, baked bread aroma. Flavor of toasted nuts with a solid hop bitterness. Too bad this is not part of their everyday line up.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is light brown with an off white head. Taste of heavy malt with a nutty finish. Lingering taste afterwards pleasant though. Pretty good and I would have one again for sure

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
From the bottle, pours a mostly clear reddish amber with very little head. Smells wintery, a few spices on top of an average pilsner aroma. Taste is lacking. Thin, weak, a pilsner with winter spices. Not a great offering.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Old Chicago mini tour. Better than most of Samuel Smith’s offerings. It has a heartiness that will help keep the chill away but is a bit heavy on the malt.

Bready, malty, Dry, nutty finish. Nice sweet, bitter, dryness balance. An easy drinking beer. Not too complex or super exciting but enjoyable.
