Amber color with one finger of white head. Cara malts in nose. The same in mouth with some nuts. Little bit of fuggles and goldings hops in the end. Good balance between the sweetness and the bitter. Classic english beer, not a winter warmer but a good one.

Clear Light Brown, Decent Head, Good Lacing. Thinner Than Expected. Confusion caused by the name "Winter", while only now, I found out that it is an English Strong Ale. That explains a bit. Yeast , Malt, Light Hops Finish. Just OK.

Bottle from 2009-10. Poured darker reddish orange with thin head. Aroma of malts and some spice. Minor bitter and honey taste. Not bad for three years old.

Bottle. This is not one of my favorite Sam Smiths. It is a smooth drinking beer it just lacks something I can’t put my finger on.

Bomber bottle poured a clear caramel-amber hue w/ a moderate cream-coloured head and a fair amount of lacing. Moderate aromas of caramel, honey, biscuits, and faint floral. Initial flavour is moderate sweet and a light bitter finish. Tastes are caramel, malts, figgy fruits, nuts, and honey. Light to medium bodied, average carbonation, and a big warmth in the finish.

Each year has a different picture? I never knew. Haven’t had this in several years, maybe even 5, but I can pretty much guarantee it still and always tastes the same. Sweet, light dark fruits, bready, tangy. I don’t get the appeal of sammy smith’s.

Amber hue. white head that quickly disappears. Aroma of piney hops, malt and applesauce. Moderate fizz and really nice sweet but refreshing mouthfeel. Tastes of roast twigs and grapes with assertive, but not overpowering hops at the end. Very well balanced.

Smells alright, toast and cereal. Pours clear orange with a frothy white head. Tastes a little metallic, very malty. Good mouthfeel, full bodied and filling.

Bouteille 500ml. (2006)
