Transfer from BA review on 9-23-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber, lightly brown color with a one finger thick off-white cream colored head. The head has a fantastic level of retention, very slowly fading over time to leave a great leave of thick lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is a rather roasted in nature with a lots of toasted malt and roasted bready smells. Mixed with these aromas are a nice sweeter smell of caramel and some fruit of apple and peach as well as spice aromas of nutmeg and clove. Taste – The taste begins with a big bready and sweet taste of a more caramel and toffee nature. As the taste advances it initially sweetens and then maintains a rather nice level of sweetness throughout. The roasted flavors get a bit stronger as the flavor advances with some notes of toast coming to the tongue. Along with the light increase in roast, spice flavors come to the tongue along with some lighter herbal hop tastes. In the end the blend of roasted, sweet, spice and light hop leaves a nice pleasantly smooth taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thicker side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly above average side. The slightly thicker body was very nice for the blend of roasted, spice and sweet tastes, with the higher carbonation level really making of a more easy drinking brew. Overall – A rather tasty winter warmer. It has a nice blend of roasted, spice, and sweet flavors which when combined with the rather easy drinking feel and smooth tastes, produces a great winter brew.

2/5/2013. From bottle. Copper color with a tan head. Spicy and malty aromas with caramel flavors. Light fruit, light spices and a mellow finish. Not bad at all.

Granted this is the wrong time of year, but this is quite good. Complex, old ale quality.

Bottle from Fenwick, Newcastle. A copper coloured ale that has a fruity aroma, with notes of burnt toffee, spices and almonds with a nutty, marzipan finish.

Carmel note. like... a nutmeg. A lager yeast note. Looks fine. nice white head. Brownish Taste is lighter. malty. flavorful..... but sort of drab. Wheaty. More flavorful than other beers I’ve had as of late.... but boring. Grape! that’s what it is. Actually really smooth on the palate. Medium body. Nice flavors. Overall a solid beer but sort of drab. Good to share!

550ml, 2013-2014 bottle. Pours a clear caramel/copper with a one finger, off white head that leaves modest lacing. Aroma has notes of fruity apple, bread, caramel, yeast, candy sugar, and mild spices. Very nice. Taste is balanced with the same fruity apple to start, then moving to bread and caramel, and finally finishing with a mild, spicy, aftertaste. Really well done. Medium body and carbonation. Clean and.smooth in the mouth but not the least bit watery. Overall a very nice beer. Bread, caramel, and mild spice mixed with a great mouth feel. Will look for again next year!

First let me say its a simple brew but its damn near perfect! what planet are these beer raters from? Pours a clear copper/gold with a thick dense soapy head that laced thick foam rings all the way down my glass! Aroma is apricots and a epic malt character with just enough hops to balance the brew out to damn near perfection!. Taste follows the Aroma well with some breadyness. Very smooth and easy to drink. Amazing brew!! Perfect malt backbone! I don?t understand why its only getting a 71 out of 100? This brew is awesome!! I could drink as a go to session beer.
