Get at least one bottle every winter for years. kind of suprised I have never rated this one. Anyways, it is a really good brew that is amber in color with a nice head on it that holds for a while then leaves a lace. Aroma and taste is what I would expect from a pale ale with a little less hops. So while it is a plain brew it has become a winter tradition and the bottles look good in the collection.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Clear dark amber with normal sized foamy beige head, malty aroma, high carbonation, slightly sweet caramel taste, smooth body, medium caramel finish. Nice and smooth.

Cervesa on destaquen els tocs a caramel tant en boca com en aroma, molt correcte. Cerveza dónde destacan los toques a caramelo tanto en boca como en aroma, muy correcta.

I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a light copper color with a nice off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is fruit, toffee, and bread. The taste is toffee, slightly tart fruit, and bread. It was pretty smooth. This was pretty tasty. It relies less on spice than most winter beers.

500ml bottle at home. Reddish dark amber with a medium slightly off-white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Medium sweet and bitter tones. Caramel, malts, peers, spices and herbs. Nice English ale.

Bottle, 550 ml, Trader Joe’s, Ft Lauderdale FL. Season 2015/2016. Pleasant ale, well balanced, typically malty and not too much caramel in aroma. Nice finish.

Bottle to pint glass. Mostly clear amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is malts, caramel, and toffee. Flavor is very malty. Some toffee and mild hints of holiday spices as well. Kind of sour in the aftertaste. Not bad but not great.

Straight from the bottle, it has aromas of caramel malt, bread, light hops, and raisins. Flavor is slightly sweet.

550 ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Translucent golden amber colour; Two and a quarter finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Excellent good sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation; Fragrant aroma of rich Ale malt, with strong caramel, toffee, strong red fruits, dark fruits, fruitcakes, molasses, sugar, earth, bread, yeast, light lemon and quite strong grass; Mid to light sweet taste of full ale malt, with strong metallic, caramel, light toffee, red fruits, floral, molasses, earth, bread, strong yeast, light lemon, moderate bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body. Slick and creamy palate; Mouth feel is rich and smooth maltyness in a not too thick background. Strong metallic from brewing water (okay). Tastable red fruits and floral, good moderate sweetness, bready and quite earthy with good touch of lemon. Nice!... Hoppiness is earth, light lemon and grass in nose, and somewhat stronger in taste; Bitterness is light to moderate for a lasting, low astringent malty finish; Fairly dry after taste. Malty, fruity and low bitter to mouth.

Comments: A straight forward but well-made winter ale - very malty with fruitcake aroma, red-fruit and pleasant sweetness and mild English hops. Not as impressive as Fuller’s Old Winter Ale, but still a very solid one to enjoy. Recommended!

Nice malty bitter like ale. Possibly a Burton ale? Biscuit and marmalade maltiness. Reminds me of some of the Fullers historical special releases. Decent bottled ale.
