3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
550 mL bottle of 2012-2013 vintage. Pours a clear amber color with a medium beige head with a fair amount of retention and lacing. Aroma is pretty mild and almost non-existent--some spices and hops come through. The beer is pretty sweet upfront; detected some caramel malts and some spicy. The finish has some mild hoppy bitterness--not very watery on the plus size. The beer is refreshing but thereís nothing really exciting about it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
550 ml bottle, poured into a shaker pint at approximately 40 degrees F.
A: Clear coppery-amber with minimal head and lacing, continuously bubbly.
S: A mild aroma, mostly a gingerbready mix of spice and malt with an earthy undertone.
T: Primarily sweet caramel malt with a mild spice presence, just enough to convey that gingerbread feeling. The earthiness from the nose was also present, enough to be noticeable, without overpowering the sweetness.
M: Relatively thin, but decidedly lively.
O: A decent winter warmer, though I donít know that Iíll repeat it. At least, unless the 550 ml bottle is on sale at Jungle Jimís for less than $3 again.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Fizzy. Tends to be when coming from bottle. Dark red Austin colours. Metallic aroma and quite metallic tasting as well, which is a bit disappointing.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is heavy syrupy malt... very hearty on the nose. Crystal clear copper pour with a tiny short lived white head. Lots of co2. Sounds like rice krispies in milk. Flavor is rich notes of toffee, and a slight spicy character. Medium body. Pretty damn good. A little on the sweet side for my taste but the flavor is heart warming.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2014/2015. Clear medium amber pour with a nice dark ruby cast. Exceptional massive head, lacing and retention. Nice nose of caramel malt, a bit of biscuit and a classic mineral note. Slightly above light medium body with a smooth texture. Excellent carbonation with a nice effervescence throughout. The crisp, well constructed, flavor profile is intense, balanced and complex. It begins with toasty biscuit that flows to caramel sweetness. The middle effervesces nicely into a Goldings flavored medium bitterness over a distinct mineral note. The crisp finish effervesces nicely into a somewhat dry slow fade that leaves you with a nice bit of bitter hop flavor over a biscuit sweetness with hints of citrus and dark fruit. As everything fades away, the mineral note dominates over a slight pepper like note of spice.
