DarkElf (3059) - La Jolla, California, USA - JUL 2, 2005
(Draft: San Diego Brewing Company in San Diego, CA) A fairly straightforward IPA, hoppy, moderately bitter, with a somewhat balancing malt backbone. Mildly aromatic nose of hops and a bit of light malt. Fairly clean palate with medium body. Medium gold in color, topped initially by a sizeable head that soon fades to a halo. Good, drinkable, if unremarkable IPA.

On draught at the brewpub while during trip to California. A golden clear colour with a lance head. Not much aroma very little of hops. Also not much hops in the flavour for an IPA. Very dry and unbalance.

clear amber with a very slight cherry tainted white lacey head of tiny bubbs...semi-sweet hop aroma that dies rather quickly..clean and balanced profile with a weak hoppy foreground..tangy sweet citrus notes..almost too balanced for an IPA...stays rather refreshing and clean though...so Shibby.

Draft. Orange/Yellow color with a nice white head that lasted most the glass. The lacing was beautiful. Lasted the etire glass and was great to look at. I even showed my non-beer drinking friend that this was a great example of what we call lacing. He didn’t really care. Aromas were mostly grapefruity hoppiness with a touch of pine. Flavors were a little stonger, but mostly just typical IPA. The mouthfeel was a little less viscous than most IPAs that I have enjoyed, a little watered down, but overall the beer was very good.

Normal washy dry leaf color to it. Nice head. Mod aroma of pine. Decent pine in the body and it really just follow the norm for IPA's and really isnt too powerful or too weak, Nice and refreshing.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2004 Filled a jug@brewpub. Cloudy peach color with a moderate off white head. Nose is light sweet citrus. Flavor starts kinda sweet followed by a quick hop bite finishing with a light dry, lingering bitterness. Nice session IPA.

Draft. Pours clear gold with a small white head. More malty than hoppy, with a sour taste. It got better as you drank it, but it still had a very odd taste up front. Maybe the taps were dirty.
