SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Nov 4, 2006 Updated: Nov 6, 2006On draft at O’Briens wet hop festival - their board had it listed as "Hopnosis". Moastly clear golden amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet malty aroma, lots of butterscotch and brown sugar in the aroma, along with floral hops. Flavor is much more hoppy than the aroma might indicate, though a bit of the gentle toffee malt sweetness is present, followed quickly by a huge rush of brash lemon, pine and herbal hops. Medium body and moderate carbonation round out this interesting new beer from SDBC. Yay Dean! mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Nov 2, 2006 Tap, SDBC. Pours a medium golden color. Aroma is hoppy with a bit of sweet caramel. Bitter piney hop flavor. A little bit of an atrificial sweetness flavor. Somewhat bitter finish. The caramel/butterscotch thing going on kind of brings the beer down a bit. Not bad though.
