fordest (1759), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Mar 14, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Aromas of bready yeast. Copper in color with a smallish head. Flavors were bitter and still yeasty bread. More of a citrus finish. Just OK. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 19, 2008 on hand pump-pours a ? head and amber color. Aroma is musty malt, earthy hops. Taste is musty, light/medium malt-some sweetness, secondary earthy/metallic hops. decaturstevo (1271), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jan 16, 2008 At SDBC. Light amber pour smooth cask head. Not much on the nose. Metalic almost sulphur. Then a funky after taste followed by a decent bitter. Smooth palate but thin. A very different beer that just didn’t set well with me. Not terrible but lacking. Ibrew2or3 (1756), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jan 13, 2008 On tap (cask) @ San Diego Brewing brewpub. Pours a nice clear deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma is very mild with some malt touches. The taste begins with mild caramelized malts followed by mild hops that are tough to pin down but become moderately bitter toward the finish. Tasty brew with solid malt backbone for the style.
