Sampler at the brewpub. Dark brown body with a small tan head. The aromas are sweet and roasty. The flavour had hints of chocolate, smoke and roasted malts. I say hints, because this had a disappointingly light touch, and the flavours seemed more shadows than reality.

Mar 26, 2008 Black-brown molasses colored with ring of head. Caramel and roasted notes contribute to aromatic balance. Decent roast flavor with caramel complexity. Well-balanced and nicely nuanced.

Dec 17, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Clear dark brown, small head. Sweet and salty with rounded dense mouthfeel. Roasty with some licorice, fruity and quite syrupy. Salty finish. Light flavoured and lacking in malt firmness.

Oct 14, 2007 Draft at SFBC. Very small tan head that quickly dissipated, mostly opaque, no visible carbonation and a dark brown hue with a red tint. Nose was chocolate, malty and roasty. Ditto for the flavor along with a burnt taste. Smooth mouthfeel and light body. Disappointing for the style as it lacked character and the flavor was "just there". Did not leave me wanting more. Much better out there of this style to be had.

Sep 10, 2007 looks exactly like every other porter ive seen. It tastes like a fukin porter. i dont really see any difference between this and every other porter ive had. a little lighter maybe.
