I have a soft spot for Mexican beer. I think it’s refreshing, has a nice salty flavor, and goes great with lime. It’s so often lumped in with American Macro’s and I cannot understand why. It’s not as good as say many German beers, but I like it.

Bottle. Actually not the worst Mexican lager. Pale yellow, obviously. Taste is a bit bigger than most, lots of malt, not much hops. Not skunky at all, surprisingly. Smooth enough and tasted mostly of malt, versus adjunct. Decent.

Pale golden yellow pour with bubbly head. Aroma is kind of skunky, maybe grassy. Flavor is sweet, corn dominates. It’s also kind of metallic. Pretty light on any flavor. I think it’s better than corona, but not by much.

12oz bottle. Clear golden yellow with a small head. Grassy and lightly hoppy aroma, a little metal. The flavor is sweet but not really malty, some bitterness to balance, a little hay, and a slightly sour finish. Light on the flavor, but not too watery. Decently refreshing, though the aftertaste could be a little cleaner.

When you’re looking for a refreshing beer that typically is enhanced with a lime, this works. I like it better than Corona and it goes well with chips and salsa. Mexican lime goes much better with this than the normal store-bought limes found in most supermarkets.
