On tap at the brewery in San Marcos, served in a tasting glass. Pours cloudy straw with a medium white head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a medium amount of fine lace. On the nose there are notes of coriander, banana, wheat and Belgian spice, along with mild malt. The flavour is medium sweet with banana and fruit, along with subtle Belgian spice. The finish is long and spicy with a distinct banana note. On the palate, it is medium in body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. overall, this is a decent smooth hefeweizen with a nice banana note. Would make for a nice summer sipper. 2013-03-22

A slightly cloudy pour with a white head. Pretty decent banana aroma with a slight lemon tartness. Sweet bubblegum, moderate clove spiciness, and sweet bread/malt, and candied orange. Lots of banana flavor along with a nice sweet bready character. Lightly watery, some citrus zest, and a bit of bubblegum, clove, and a light tartness.

A hazy yellow, colored beer, with a thick white head. The aroma of fruits of bananas, with notes of bitter. The taste is fruity, banana, with wheat. the aftertaste is flat fruity, almost no bitter.

Dogbrick (8139) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 1, 2008
Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a hazed yellow-gold color with a miniscule white head that dissipates to an island in no time. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is lightly wheaty with notes of yeast and banana. Medium, clean body with fruit and wheat flavors. Somewhat astringent hops show up at times as well. The finish is wheat and fruit with a yeast aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Brewer’s Special tap at San Marcos Brewery & Grill--Poured a soapy-bronze-straw yellow-mustard body w/ no head. Banana and clove nose. Good level of carbonatio. Robust, sweet, yeasty, bready, and true to style. Quite good. Best beer at San Marcos so far.
