On tap at the brewery in San Marcos, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear golden with a tiny remnant of a head that leaves a trace of lace. The nose has notes of grass and grain. The flavour is medium sweet with grass and grainy malts with just a hint of honey. The finish is moderate in length with continuation of the grass and grain notes. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a fairly unremarkable golden ale. 2013-03-22

Pours a pale golden color with a white head. Starts off with an aroma of sweet malt, bread, and a hint of honey. Some grassy hops, a bit watery, and maybe some yeast. Sweet flavor with a fair amount of grass. Somewhat watery, some bread, yeast, and a mild floral hop character. a light tartness on finish.

A pretty insipid blonde ale. Watery, buttery, undeveloped. Yet somehow the head brewer thinks it is worthy.

Draft. A light golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of butter, straw, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, butter, and straw, leading to a lightly bitter finish. I think it is off - but why then serve at the brewpub?

On tap at brewpub. Dark gold with a white head. Aroma of crisp bready malt. Not much hopping; same as in the flavor. Crisp and clean biscuit flavor. Overall it was ok, but not much going on.

Dogbrick (6021) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 1, 2008
Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow-gold color with a thin and fizzy white head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing. The aroma is mildly hoppy and malty. Light-bodied with a slightly spiced hops flavor as well as some bready malt. The finish is clean and lightly bitter hops with a lingering grainy malt aftertaste. Straightforward overall.
