Pours very dark, nearly black with a dense foamy head that breaks down to bubbles the attractive lace. Aromas of malt, honey, molasses, brown sugar and hops. Flavors were dark fruit, raisins, molasses, honey, slight citrus, yeast, hops and malt. Good mouthfeel, a little sweet but a nice bitter finish.

12 oz bottle. Very dark with a hint of redness in the light. Nice head, left decent lacing. Aromas were some caramel and molassas, but the flavor left a bit of a tinny taste in my mouth. Decent.

Very dark red with a tan head. Sweet molassas and honey aroma with a little vanilla and some sourness. Smooth body. Tart and sweet with molassas flavor, some burnt caramel. Finishes clean and refreshing. Really pretty good.

poured a brownish color almost like cola, Mostly sweet malty notes on the nose with some skunkiness. Sweet taste iut kind of over-carbonated, could also use more hops..

Pours a nice bubbly dark brown with a small amount of fizzy tan gray head. Smells very sweet, sugary, and alcoholish, almost like a sammy smith...kinda a mix of a sweet dark beer and a shot of plummy wine. Flavor is light and sweet brown sugar, and plums. Overall, I found this to be pretty decent.

Poured a light black to dark brown color. Smells of roasted nuts and caramel, maybe a hint of alcohol. Tastes of caramel but more like a burnt light beer. kind of weird, I’m not sure what to think.

(12 oz bottle: Trader Joe’s in Pacific Beach, CA) Well, I guess a crappy dark lager is better than a crappy pale lager, but in the end, it’s still crap. All this beer really amounts to is smelly sugar water. It’s sweet and sugary, resembling caramel and brown sugar, and that’s about all that’s even slightly enjoyable here, but a seriously strong cardboard flavor is still able to jump out, despite the sugary sweetness. The sad thing is that this beer isn’t too bad when it’s ice cold, but as it warms up a bit, whoa, pretty brutal stuff. And the nose! Oh my God, this is foul smelling stuff. Something smells sour, like maybe rotting pickels, and then there’s something else that’s truly malodorous that I don’t even want to begin trying to identify. May I never smell that odor ever again. Light to medium bodied, mostly because of all the residual sugar. Medium brown color is decent, and the light tan head pours to a good size before fading to a broken, patchy film. Drinking this beer when it’s not absolutely ice cold can be dangerous to your health and well being. You’ve been warned.

Now this is my kind of beer! Nice smooth nutty taste, just like a brown ale. When I bought this i wasnt expecting a quality beers, but after drinking it my views have definately changed. The aroma is pretty strong too, and smells like roasted nuts.
