My daughter takes great delight in finding crap beers she knows I’ll never have had before: take a bow daughter! Clear 330ml bottle poured into a ’La Chouffe’ stemmed tulip @ home on 16 Nov 2012 during one of my random tasting evenings. Looked a typical lager/pilsner: bright, golden and clear, with the usual white head of fading bubbles. Smells like a lime and lemonade soft drink, taste is simular but with hints of hops and traces of mild malts. Not something for beer geeks, but it might quench a young twerps thirst on a warm sunny day.

Bottle from a local supermarket in Los Boliches, Spain. Take water and add to the regular San Miguel. This is what you get...

Bottle from local supermarket, L4861120150, best before 20oct17. Pale yellow coloured with a foamy white head. Nose is malty, grainy, light grassy. Flavour is light malty, slightly sweet, soft texture. Easy drinkable.

F: snow-white, average, quick gone. C: pale gold, clear. A: malt, light grassy bitterness, hint of sugary sweet, wet paper. T: malty, almost no bitterness, hint of sweet, as I read characteristic of pale lager on RB I understand that ok for the style, but not good as the beer in general, refreshing for summer, light body, normal carbonation, 0,33l bottle from Carrefour in Brussels.

Fra flaske på Mi2, Cardinal (Asko Rogaland ølmesse): lys, lett, kort og eksepsjonelt forglemmelig.

660ml bottle from local shop. Carlsberg UK version. Pale yellow gold colour with a white foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of grains, corn, cardboard, grass, metallic. Taste is grainy, pale malty, with corn, washing up liquid notes and some grassy metallic bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, light bodied, soft to medium carbonation, grainy metallic bitter finish. A bland pale lager for drinking cold.

As an actual beer its not he best. Its cheap and cheerful and that’s never bad to complain about. Pours clear golden. At first, there is quite a nice, creamy head but it very quickly diminishes. The aromas are of a sweet malt. Very slight hop notes. The taste is very bland. Again sweet malts and not much else. A very subtle bitterness. It is very easy to drink and a thirst quencher. For the price there is very little wrong with it. Much better than the bog standard fosters and clasberg etc. Great as a party beer.

Bottle. Drank after hockey, so some bias noted there. Piiiiissss yellow. Clean, simple pale lager. No real hops to speak of, though slightest grassy touch in the nose. Fairly clean, ’refreshing’ (hockey bias). Slight cleaning solution extracts - this ain’t no ’craft’ pale lager. It’s a shitty light pale lager, but has no real unpleasant surprises.

San Miguel Fresca (4.4%) Nickname: The quite all-right. Taste: Light-bitter-spicey. The taste reminds me of corona but it also holds some special spices that i cannot quite figure out. It also have an after-taste that gives you the taste of a pepper-licorice spice. It also tastes even more water-ish than the corona at the first sip. It comes in a tall, skinny and good looking bottle that i quite like. the pale-bright look of it all looks tempting and makes the experience itself more enjoyable.

Clear light golden body and white head. Grassy and light hops aroma, almost flavorless, watery. Low carbonation. A poor beer.

Sep 2015 - Clear 330ml bottle, 4.4% BB March 2016. Clear orange, very lightly sparkling, small scummy white head. Aroma is honey, crackers, airy, wet tarmac. Body is light, spritzy carbonation, smooth. Taste is very pale malts, touch of booze, mint, crackers. Very watery. How can a 4.4% beer taste of ethanol? This one manages it.
