I had this in Manila and was annoyed because they have a virtual monopoly there and I could never get much else. Now in Thailand I appreciate it much more than the local competition.... no bad aftertaste, a bit a weird tang that last a half second but it isn’t necessarily unpleasant. Smell’s not horrible, promises more than the beer delivers

Bottle (320ml)
Corn with only hints of grain. It’s pretty light on the nose & quite sweet along with some vegetable adjuncts.
Straw colour with a pinky-sized bubbly, white head with poor retention. Crystal clear.
A clean tasting beer. There is some corn & sweet grain along with a little bread. The finish is bitter-sweet & every so slightly skunky.
Light bodied & quite gassy with a bit of fizz in there too. It has an grain like feel to it & the fizz stays with you a while after the sip.

Not a good beer at all & one that certainly doesn’t justify it’s price. Not one area of the beer that I actually enjoyed.

Can from Thai supermarket. Pours the typical lager looks. Smell and taste is fairly decent; some dusty hops in the finish but otherwise low on characteristics. Not bad, just boring.

Pales when compared to a dunkel or doppelbock. Piss-colored beers just aren’t my thing, anymore. Nothing special here.

Koelschtrinker (12453) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 9, 2011
Land #66 Herber, etwas muffiger Antrunk. Untertönig ist das Bier zumindest im Antrunk noch würzig und etwas hopfig, durch eine aufkommende Verwässerung fällt dies weg. Daher wird das Bier zunehmend langweiliger, bleibt aber immerhin spritzig. Wässrig-herber Abgang. Test vom 13.12.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,8,8,8,8 - 8,00

Hong Kong version, sold in Estonia. Comes in a strange old-style can. Pale golden, scummy head. Grainy aroma. Light and dry. Some grain sourness in the aftertaste. Nothing special.
