Bottle. This is a pretty standard pale lager. Not bad but not particularly special. A mild malt taste with some carbonation and not much bitterness.

Drank some bottles in Manilla and Zamboanga in 2010. From what I remember, it was a decent pils, nothing more nothing less.

(San Miguel Pale Pilsen) Stubby bottle 330 ml, served into a glass tankard, ABV 5% Pale yellow colour on the body, small and frothy white head, with average retention, leaving minimal lacing behind. Aroma of hay, dried grass, adjuncts -mostly rice- Taste of rice too, medicinal notes, grains. Thin body with average carbonation, quite dry on the palate. Nothing important.

Small bottle from a night club on Bangla Road in Phuket. Had this one straight from the bottle, but I can guess what it looks like. Corny aroma, sweet taste. Basic Asian lager, nothing amazing.

0,32 l bottle. Appearance: clear yellow, white foam. Malt aroma, slightly flavored with German hops. Taste light body, watery, malt, something fruity, soft drink for summer.

Not bad for a rice based lager. But, and a big one, make sure you get the Philippines one as San Mig from Hong Kong brewery is awful and from Vietnam tasteless.

Blonde dorée, mousse blanche sans corps et peu persistante. Au nez pale lager moyenne.. métallique. En bouche crispy mais un goût métallique. Quasiment pas d’amertume... C’est pas bon.

12 ounce bottle purchased for $1 from sale cart at Nugget in Davis. The aroma has excessive corn and DMS. Some boiled veggies and mild sewage also play a part in the aroma. Transparent, crystal clear yellow body with a small, white head. Starts with a watery, slight metallic flavor. Afterwards, it becomes rather flavorless and watery. Believe it or not, there is a light grassy bitterness late. Pretty unoffensive alcohol delivery device.

Beer in Southern Asia is (with the exception of Sri Lanka) crap. This beer is the cheapest you will find in the region, but is pretty undrinkable. Better stick to the Red Horse, made by the same monopoly brewery but with more flavor and a higher ABV, so you won’t have to pour so much crap down your throat to get a buzz.
