33 cl bottle as "San Miguel Premium Pale Pilsen" from a supermarket in HK, 18.90 HK$, quite expensive, made in New Territories, HK. Yellow color, big bubbly white head. Subtle nose of grains. Aroma: at first was "yuck!", but then mild grains, corn, glucose. After a while a lagery tone wakes up, cornflakes, alcohol already noticeable. Taste is uncertain, flat. Quite unrefined and average, light bodied, slick feel, carbonated, anonymous finish. Not really worth the price

Aroma is a skunky dry maltiness withight sweetness. Light graininess and partial sulphur notes. Taste is light crystal malt character with slight bland dry malt finish. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains poorly

Bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy malts, corn, skunk, grass, slightly less offensive than some pale lagers.

320ml bottle. PD 25/01/2012 - ED: 25/01/2014 - AEF 11-010
The nose is grainy, smooth. The beer starts neutral-grainy, smooth, but dusty-malty. The mainpart is the same, dust, malt, not very fresh. The aftertaste has hints of bitterness, lots of dust.
Easy to drink, not very fresh beer.

11.2oz bottle, from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Cool stubby custom-molded bottle. Clear golden color. Good thin kind of bubbly white head. Leaves good thicker lace, pretty impressive appearance for a pale lager, really. Medium body. Smooth, lightly soft, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Good, smooth, easy-drinking texture. Pretty impressive, love dat texture, despite the taste... Flavor comprises of some metallic macro twang, you know that disctinctive flavor. How to describe it? It’s got some good mildly peppery pilsner hops / malts, that’s nice, but then some odd metallic mustiness. Nice moderate sweet taste, light bitterness. Nice distinct perfect islander lager twang to it. Pretty damn solid pils. What’s happening here? Just had the dunkel earlier tonight with my dinner, I was impressed with that, too. This is a macro in the Philippines??? Who is the world power again? WTF AB-InBev??? Why can’t you do it like this? Shit. Makes me frustrated that the national lager of the philipines is this and we here in the US are stuck with Bud. We’re a country of profit margins, obviously, when what many of us consider to be a 3rd world country can make a lager this good in such mass quantities. It’s probably even better over there in the domestic. These guys are living the life. Good pils.
