taunusmies (225), Finland Mar 19, 2008 Pours clear pale golden with a large long-lasting head. Dryish malty taste with corn and a bit butter. Slightly yeasty smell. Light mouthfeel, moderately carbonated. Not bad at all.
iammarc (141), Inverness, Scotland Jul 28, 2008 Not bad, but not brilliant. Prefer draught to bottle for a change. Easy-drinker, if there’s not much else. swoopjones (1072), Buffalo, New York, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Another clean crisp but rather boring Euro lager. Drinable but not much else to report on raymondwave (765), Finland Jul 10, 2008 Draught at Nuevo, Helsinki. Pale clear golden, small fizzy head. Nose is malty, slightly hayish hops. Flavor is malty with subtle yet harsh bitterness. Somewhat dry and peppery. Not much aftertaste. Fizzy and stingy carb. It’s beer, but can’t say I enjoyed enormously. azlondon (468), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Light golden. Good amount of white head. Tiny bubbles.
Aroma: Malt and hops, some fruit. Slightly lemony.
Taste: Fresh. Nice malt and slight bitterness. Not bad
Info: 330ml bottle, 27/6-2008 wheresthepath (201), Buckinghamshire, England May 16, 2008 [on tap at the Blagrave Arms, Reading] I’ve been trying a few of the macro brewery "world lagers" of late - partly due to the hot weather; partly because in pubs without guest beers I’m finding I’ve already tried all the real ales on offer; and partly because it’s been many a long year since I switched to real ales and authentic pilseners, and I’ve felt that it was high time for a reminder of why I did. Some of the world lagers I’ve tried have actually left me pleasantly surprised - Kronenbourg 1664 and Staropramen were especially good. San Miguel is, unfortunately, of the other type. It’s fizzy yellow water with a swiftly diminishing head; the taste is a weak dusty sourness. I think that Spain should give the beer a miss and stick to making their excellent wine!
