3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 valpoaj (530) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Pours a murky, dirty orangish brown with tons of particulates - medium off white head settles quite quickly, but leaves a thick film. Aroma is bready and yeasty, rye is prevalent as well...hint of resinous hops. Flavor is quite unique - loads of malt (and yes, there is most certainly rye working here), lots of bitter hop flavors - some with a very fruity feel, but the resiny hops are still at the forefront. Spice and a slight sourness also playing in the background - very intriguing. Palate is heavy and quite thick for the style, oily and lingering - 9% - holy heck! All in all, this was a beer I’m happy to have tried, would try again, but would not really want more than one...yep, that kind of beer!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Finhead (911) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JUN 13, 2012
A cloudy orange-brown pour with a frothy off-white head. The light aroma has notes of herbs and pine. It has a light body with oily texture and average carbonation. There is some mild sweetness in the taste, but it finishes moderately bitter and dry.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy dark orange with about a finger of thick white head. Aroma of bready malt and some grassy and herbal hops. Taste is medium bitter. Resin and herbs with a little bready malt. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. I’d drink this one again.

Sweet 12oz bonus bottle courtesy of GhostFace, you the man Neil, pours clear copper with thick gold edges and off white head. The aroma offers up plenty of bold pine hops, thicker sticky hop resin and what must be rye notes not far behind. Wow! Ok, yes. This is a wild ride where the taste delivers big pine hop notes that pulse with bitter resiny notes and then pulling up twangy spicy rye. Wow wow. This is loaded with pine hoppy goodness. Well done, I dig it. Big bold bitter yummy IPA.

Not half bad. Barely half good. A bit hoppy, slightly aromatic and the like.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 sloth (2238) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - FEB 21, 2012
Medium sized white head, retention is good as is the lacing, thick and coating. Hazy copper appearence. Nose of some sweety malts, light caramel, grain with a laid back spicey, piney hop. Body is almost medium, lil oily, lil resiny with a gentle carbonation. Somewhat dank hoppy flavors, lil pissy, grapefruit and earth. Malts are lightly sweet and grainy with just a hint of that rye spiceyness. Bigger finish than expected, good bite, lil fruity. alcohol making itself known as it warms. Decent.

12 oz bottle. Foggy orange brown with a snowy white head. Nose is orange, caramel and flowers. I would not have guessed rye. Medium body with a buzz. Taste provides a nice punch of rye that amps up the bitter hops. Grapefruit, lemon pith and toffee with an earthy finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper amber with visible carbonation and a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces nicely. Aroma has notes of pine hops with la bit of grapefruit and backing rye. Flavor begins with light pine and rye and finishes with a bitter grapefruit note.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BunnyHops (27) - Newark, Illinois, USA - JAN 19, 2012
Poured a medium red copper color with light sediment. A little more than a finger of head that quickly disapates but a light dense thin layer of merky foam stays atop. Thicker mouth feel than other IPA’s I’ve had, but that comes along with a almost cider like flavor and sweet rye/apple cider aroma. At first I wasnt sure about this but after half a bottle I got into it, not your normal IPA but a nice change from the regulars.
