Gold Medal Winner in the World Beer Cup 2000, Oscarís has quickly become our most popular brand. A full-bodied beer with a smooth finish, this is the ultimate oatmeal stout.

This is a very good stout that has lots of chocolate overtones mixing well with the roasted malts with some coffee like notes. Nice flavor. Surprising good feel and drinkability to this stout. It was like liquid M & M's without the candy coating. The candy is that it's beer, yum. Nice golden dark ruby brown color with very little head. Smells of coffee and cocoa with a good roasty background.

Very chocolatey aroma, along with a hint of toffee sweetness. Deep brown-black in color with a subsiding light tan head. Roasty malt flavors up front, followed by a blend of chocolatey sweetness and light, floral hops. Finishes bittersweet with a hint of coffee. Palate is a little thin and carbonated. Decent but certainly not world-class.

The roasted nutty malt flavors balance the oatmeal sweetness nicely. Thin compared to other beers of similar style, but the well balanced taste makes up for it. Looking forward to trying again soon.

Aroma of malt and coffee. I enjoyed that part of it. Very dark. Not much body for a stout. Nutty flavor mixed with coffee and malt sweetness and a smooth finish. Pretty decent stout!

Opaque near black with a taller glistening tan head. Mocha and light coffee aroma. Slightly oily in feel. Flavors of choclate MaltOMeal. Finish is a bit weak and dry but good flavors up front save this one.

IF you can get this fresh enough, it blows Smithís oatmeal stout out of the pub. A wondefully dark beer with enough taste to stand up being served well chilled. Excellent with a hearty stew and brown bread.

Well, I cant say this holds a candle to any of the Rogue stouts or really many of those from the west coast, but its good stuff, and I looked forward to it when I returned to the Northwoods. Deep Chocolatey brown with a chocolatey head. Looks nice, just a little thin. Definite sweetness from the oats, hints of dark chocolate and coffee as well. Heavy duty roasted barley, mild hop presence & nice smooth mouthfeel, just seems watery and thin compared to what Iíve had lately.

Black color, no head. Smells of oatmeal more than chocolate. Hmm, yep, taste of chocolate, with the occasional taste of oatmeal. A decent mix of flavors, but not my thing. Thick.

Dark body and creamy head. Malt is a strong roasted chocolate flavor. The problem here is certainly in the finish, as it the intitial flavor seems to disappear and finish dry and bland. A good start but not complete in its complexity.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2004 ReRate (24 May 2004)- 12 oz bottle: dark chocolately brown with garnet edges & a persistent tan cream. Huge roasted nut aroma, along with some dry oatmeal, dusty chocolate and the campfire I remember. Palate was still a bit lacking, but smooth and creamy no less. Finish was a bit darker and more flavourful than before with a slight raisiny sweetness, a solid stout, up one on overall. Original (26 October 2002): Very nice big dark brown head, it made me want to get a spoon and take a bite of it. Sweet, malty aroma. I can only describe the flavour as a sweet campfire. Dry empty finish - seems like they forgot something, still a nice brew.
